The passing of one of magic's very finest Terry Nosek

Message from Nick Lewin

[FIRSTNAME] I wanted to let you know about the passing of one of magic's very finest Terry Nosek. Terry was a true one of a kind and will be missed by magicians around the world and in particular by his friends here in Las Vegas. Terry could perform any kind of magic, but his real specialty was as a mentalist.

Not just a great mindreader but a really funny one. Terry performed and published his work as Dr. Sigmund Fraud which gives you a great idea of the slightly twisted approach he gave to his work. In his hometown of Chicago Terry worked in comedy clubs and opening shows for local stars like Judy Tenuta and Emo Philips and performed magic in almost every kind of venue. Most recently he had been performing his own brand of 'walk around' mindreading at banquets and functions that was unique and highly appreciated.

I have known Terry for over 15 years and can say from my heart that no nicer person could be found. Terry was generous, talented, and creative with a wealth of knowledge about magic. I have frequently gone to Terry with a question or puzzle and each time he listened, thought about it, and would not only answer my question but send me faxes and emails filled with additional routines and related ideas.
Terry's work within the Psychic Entertainers Assn. allowed the other members to fully appreciate just how razor sharp his mind was at constructing mindreading effects. Any comedy performer would do well to seek out his books and routines and see how carefully he planned and executed his magic.
Strong magic and strong comedy.

Terry suffered a sudden stroke at his home in Las Vegas and died last Saturday. He leaves behind his wife Barbara who is a highly respected Las Vegas journalist and columnist. Terry's passing will be mourned by all who knew him.
