5. The Magic Word Podcast - Street Talk With Gazzo
--------------------------------------------
Message by Scott Wells, M.I.M.C. with Gold Star

This week we get straight talk from the internationally acclaimed street magician, Gazzo. He was passing through on a rare nationwide lecture tour of the U.S. and stopped to spend some time behind the microphone talking about working the streets, some of his favorite places, some stories about his work on the street, competition, his philosophy of life, and his opinions on…well, just about nearly everything.

Gazzo lives in Bath Spa, England with his wife, Billy Kidd (one of the "Wizards" from the recent hit television show in the U.S. "Wizard Wars"), but he spends most of his time traveling the world performing street magic. Performing 20 shows a day for seven days a week puts him in a stratosphere of performers unlike any others. Over the decades, he has probably performed more shows than any magician on the planet. So suffice it to say that he has a good base of comparison having paid his dues to earn the ability to state his opinions.

You can watch a video of his street performance, see some exclusive photos taken at his lecture in Houston, Texas, read the blog, listen to the podcast and download the MP3 file at: http://themagicwordpodcast.com/scottwellsmagic/264-gazzo And, of course, you can get the podcast through iTunes, Stitcher, FeedPress and Tunein.

7. TV Magic In South Africa
--------------------------------------------
Message by Mahommed Moorad (South Africa)

My purpose for this email is to share info about magic in South Africa. Whilst many continents and countries are covered in the various publications, aside from the college of magic, not much South African magic is covered.

It's an exciting time for South African magic, especially on TV as it's been about 10 years since the last TV magic show.

My name is Mahommed and my performing name is Mo Magic. By qualification I'm an electronic engineer, however my passion for magic led to me leaving engineering 5 years ago to pursue magic as a full time profession.

In total, It's been 13 amazing years of magic. My TV show titled, "Magic with Mo" premiered on South African prime time TV in October 2015. It's only the 3rd magic series in a 50 year history of our national broadcaster. It's a 13 part TV series and will run until January 2016.

Please see the links below to some content.

Here's one clip from the show: A spectator's ring vanishes in a blaze of fire and reappears in a vault - in a security box number chosen by the spectators.

8. "Palace Of The Occult" Astonishes With Pre-Wwii Intrigue
--------------------------------------------
Message by Neil Tobin (US)

You are invited to attend the most sensational evening on Berlin's 1933 society calendar. It's the historic opening of the Palace of the Occult, presided over by popular psychic, Erik Jan Hanussen. Be charmed by his stories and involved in his astonishing feats-including demonstrations that look remarkably like real mind reading, clairvoyance, and future gazing. But who is this man: seer or charlatan? Nazi or Jew? Traitor or martyr?

That's the premise of this interactive world premiere play. Based on actual events, it provides guests with a new perspective on pre-WWII history as it introduces them to a character who may be too fascinating to be forgotten by history any longer. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center.

Hanussen is portrayed by Neil Tobin, who is also the creator of this largely solo performance. Supporting actors include Jack Dryden, Carter Petray, and David Weiner.

Audience members are invited to stay for a special audience talkback immediately following the 7pm performance on Sunday, November 29 with David Belew, Neil Tobin, and Lillian Gerstner, Director of Special Projects for the Museum. Guests are limited to 75 per seating for this exclusive engagement, so order your tickets today at http://palaceoftheoccult.com

Light & Noir: Exiles and Émigrés in Hollywood, 1933-1950
Through costumes, props, film footage and personal memorabilia, learn how the immigration of German speaking immigrants fleeing Nazi persecution, transformed Hollywood forever. Light & Noir explores how beloved films such as Double Indemnity, Casablanca, and Sunset Boulevard were shaped by the émigré experiences of pioneering film artists who became the film actors, directors, writers, and composers of Hollywood's "Golden Age." 14. The December Issue Of Genii Is Now Available
--------------------------------------------
Message by Richard Kaufman, Editor

There's no better way than a box full of tricks-it's just the thing if you know a young person (or a collector) interested in magic and are looking for a reasonably priced holiday gift. Marvin Berglas's company Marvin's Magic has just released a real doozy: Marvin's iMagic. It's a set whose props interact with an app (for your cellphone or tablet) that applies Augmented Reality to them. In other words, it overlays 3D moving visuals onto the props when seen through your cellphone's camera that produce magical effects. Read all about it and see demonstrations in this issue.

Also, we feature "Out of the Shadows," on Philippe Beau, who was interviewed for us by Joe Culpepper of Canada. Beau is a cutting-edge magician/shadowgrapher from France, often working in avant-garde productions and bringing magic to other types of shows, such as an opera about the life of Robert-Houdin. An unusual piece and I think you'll enjoy it.

Famed Japanese magician Maki Kitami died in late summer, and he deserves to be remembered not only for his fame in his native country, but also for his many convention appearances in the United States where he performed the ancient Japanese style of magic known as "Wazuma." He is memorialized by Yuki Kadoya.

Our columnists, the best of the best, bring you holiday gifts galore this month beginning with Jim Steinmeyer's "Conjuring," which reveals a new type of two-person code. * Helder Guimarães returns with the second column of "Invisible Strings," this time describing a remarkably elegant switch in the course of a routine which appears simple but is in fact quite rich in mystery, with supplementary videos in our digital edition. * John Gaughan does not serve soup with his ladle, but playing cards, in his "Chamber of Secrets." * "Cardopolis" finds David Britland revisiting Ted Annemann's "Nightmare" - a fascinating trick, long buried, now dissected. * Eugene Burger muses on circles and other rings, some of which link, in "Eugene's Notebook," which also includes a video in our digital edition.

* The second part of Jonathan Pendragon's analysis of "Sands of the Desert" continues with a peek into dark swirling waters where small bags of sand are hidden. * In his first "Lost Horizons" written sans appendix, Max Maven looks back to Hofzinser, McCaffrey, and Joseph for an intriguing mystery. * Andi Gladwin brings us three fine tricks in this month's "Magicana," accompanied by a "Modern Magicana" video in our digital edition. * Our "Knights at The Magic Castle" columnist Daniel Ulin returns from his one-month hiatus feeling fresh, newly engaged (congratulations), and with all the news about the only real home magicians have, located in sunny Los Angeles. It includes a video interview with Paul Green in our digital edition.

* All things come to an end, and magic dealer, demonstrator extraordinaire, and all around swell fellow Al Cohen writes his last column, "Memoirs of a Magic Dealer" this month. Al's wonderful reminiscences have run in Genii on and off for many years now. When I first asked him to write the column, Al thought about it and said, "I might have a few interesting stories to tell." He certainly did. I wish Al and his wife Rita the best of luck in their new home in Florida.

Join us for all of this and more each month in Genii, The Conjurors Magazine! www.geniimagazine.com

15. Now You See Me 2' First Teaser Trailer
--------------------------------------------
Aceshowbiz

The Ace of Entertainment Zone

The movie brings back the Four Horsemen, a group of illusionists, who will pull off their most impossible heist yet.

Lionsgate has debuted the first teaser trailer for magician movie "Now You See Me 2". Bringing back almost all of its terrific cast members, the movie seemingly comes with the same formula like the first film, in which the Four Horsemen will pull off some big heists using their magical abilities.

"It's great to be back," says Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson) on the stage with two other members of the Four Horsemen (Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco). The entire trailer shows the illusionists performing magic tricks, but it also introduces a new character played by Daniel Radcliffe, who appears to be a clumsy magician.
